Promoting good health and happiness are among my top priorities, so each day I focus on small steps that I can take to improve my eating habits, increase my fitness, reduce, stress, relax, enjoy friends/family, learn new things, do what I love, and have some fun. I make an effort to 'live consciously', as much as possible, to pay attention to what I am doing, feeling, experiencing, and to focus decisively on what I hope to achieve. With that in mind, I intend to 'Remember You Are What You Eat', as part of my I Resolve To . . . Challenge: 365 Resolutions For Health & Happiness. Why not join me? The objective is very simple: Do at least one thing each and every day to promote health and happiness for 'YOU'. Banish the 'Someday, Someday, Someday Syndrome'. Instead, make every day New Year's Day. Make every day count. The list of possibilities is infinite and can be tailored to your own dreams, resolutions and daily goals. If you need some help - a little nudge, a bit of inspiration, tips, advice, and news about the best ways to make resolutions a reality - please use IResolveTo.Com as one of your resources. Resolve365 in 2009.
During the past five years I have used myself as a 'lab rat' of sorts, testing various ways of making and keeping New Year Resolutions. I have studied what works and what doesn't work for others and I have reviewed scores of articles, studies, and polls, about resolutions and goal setting. Early on, I came to the conclusion that success is born from common sense. It doesn't take rocket science to make and keep a New Year Resolution, but it does take a resolution about which you have great passion and interest, as well as patience, commitment, hard work, focus, determination, and a written plan. If you do your homework, determine the steps that are necessary to make your resolution a reality - the 'who what, when, where, why and how' - and show up day-after-day, your odds of success are greatly enhanced. Those small daily steps - the journey - add up over time and truly count as much, or more, than the destination.
Tomorrow marks the half-way point in 2009. Why not celebrate that 'calendar landmark' by dusting off a dream, resolution, or goal about which you have enormous passion. Carve out time in your schedule and begin taking the daily steps that will enable you to say - "WOW, I really made progress and I'm ready for more!" on January 1, 2010. Stop procrastinating. Do it today!
