Despite a cool rainy weekend, the show went on for the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk in Washington, DC this weekend. Closing ceremonies should be happening as I write this. My warm congratulations to all who served as crew and walkers and to friends and family who cheered everyone througout the 60-mile journey. Great job everyone! Alas, walkers and crew did not have the sunshine and moderate Fall weather than we enjoyed in 2012 (note our pleasant circumstances pictured above prior to closing ceremonies for the 2012 walk). This year I continued to support the 3-Day walk by donating money rather than time and sweat equity. An early assessment of my goals in 2013 convinced me to avoid 'super woman syndrome' and to remove some goals from my plate so that others could flourish. The compromise was to sit out the actual walk and instead donate funds.
If you are working to achieve your dreams and resolutions - AKA 'Daily Resolves' - I applaud you. Keep up the great work. If you struggle a bit, maybe it is time to take a hard look at your approach.
